Defensive back Divaad Wilson, who started two games as a redshirt freshman last season for Georgia, is leaving the school to return closer to his home in Miami, he announced Monday on Twitter. Wilson said he's going in the transfer portal to seek a new school where he can play. The 6-foot, 195-pound Wilson started at the nickel back position against Notre Dame and Kentucky last season, making his first college interception against the Fighting Irish. He played in 13 games total last season but was among the more than a dozen players who missed the Sugar Bowl. Wilson had 24 tackles and one pass break up last season after debuting in the Sugar Bowl against Texas at the end of the 2018 season. He sustained a torn ACL early in spring practice that year after enrolling early out of Miami Northwestern High School as a four-star recruit. - Athens Daily Banner
