08/31/15 - JK Scott's bio after one season as Alabama's punter takes up a full page in the media guide and begins with heady praise. "Produced the best season for a punter in Alabama football history..." The third-ranked Crimson Tide sophomore might not get recognized much on campus - that's a punter's lot, after all - but his booming punts made him one of the team's most acclaimed players straight out of high school in Denver. "My freshman year was awesome," Scott said. "The transition from high school to college was amazing. There's a lot more fans and hype going towards the game and stuff. It was a lot of fun." The Tide opens Saturday against Wisconsin in Arlington, Texas.

Scott was a finalist for the Ray Guy Award after leading the nation's punters with a 48-yard average. Perhaps more impressively, his punts went for a net average of nearly 45 yards and only 12 were returned - for a total of 83 yards. His punting and net punting averages would have led the NFL last season, too. The 6-foot-5, 198-pounder can still stroll around campus anonymously, unlike many of his teammates. It comes with the position, and perhaps the lanky build. "I don't even look like a football player," Scott said. "If anything, they think I'm a basketball player walking around. But yeah, I usually don't get people coming up and all that." - AP Sports

10/14/14 - OCT 13 SEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JK Scott, P, Alabama,...True frosh punted a career-high eight times in the Crimson Tide's 14-13 victory at Arkansas Saturday night...He averaged 44.2 yards, but more importantly netted 44.2 yards on those eight kicks to improve his season net punting average to 43.1 yards per game which ranks fourth nationally...Scott pinned seven of his eight punts inside the Razorbacks 20-yard line, including six that were downed at the 15-yard line or better...He is averaging 46.7 yards per punt this season, ranking him fourth nationally and first in the SEC...Scott has placed 12 of his 19 punts (63.2 percent) inside the 20 while allowing just two punts to be returned all season for a total of eight yards...He has averaged 47.5 yards per punt (14) in the last two games with 10 placed inside the 20-yard line. - SEC football
