08/28/18 - DE Carlos Dunlap agreed to a three-year, $45 million extension, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Dunlap was heading into the final year of his contract, and he was scheduled to make $7 million base salary this season. The 29-year-old Dunlap has been named to the Pro Bowl twice (2015, 2016), and he has recorded 64.5 sacks in his eight pro seasons. His best season was 2015, when he had 13.5 sacks, and he followed that with eight sacks in 2016 and 7.5 sacks last year.
07/28/18 - DE Carlos Dunlap and the Bengals are working on a contract extension, according to multiple reports. Dunlap and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, were spotted during training camp engaging in a conversation on Saturday with Bengals owner Mike Brown, Cincinnati.com reported. The two sides have been working on an extension for Dunlap, who has spent his entire career with the Bengals since he was second-round draft pick in 2010. The team hopes to have a deal, which could make Dunlap one of the highest-paid defensive ends in the NFL, in place before the start of the regular season. The 29-year-old Dunlap will be entering the final year of his contract. In 2018, his base salary is scheduled to be $7 million. Last season, Dunlap started all 16 games and played more than three-fourths of the team's defensive snaps. He finished the season with 46 tackles, 7.5 sacks, seven pass deflections and the game-winning interception returned for a touchdown in a game against the Indianapolis Colts. Dunlap, who is entering his eighth season, has spent his entire professional career with the Bengals and has racked up 64.5 sacks, 244 tackles and 16 forced fumbles.

Dunlap, who forfeited a $300,000 workout bonus by skipping earlier workouts, is expected to make $7 million this season. He is in a contract year after signing a six-year, $40.6 million extension in 2013.
