Draft Scout Josh Bynes News
10/08/18 - LB Josh Bynes added to the lead Sunday with a 23-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.
10/03/18 - LB Josh Bynes has emerged as the Cardinals' most reliable player in the middle of their defense. He's getting his first extended chance at being a regular starter and has gone from journeyman to potential start in the making. "When you look at Josh, the first thing that comes out is that he's just smart," head coach Steve Wilks said. "Josh gets everybody aligned and that's important within our defense. Seeing certain adjustments and checks and being able to get either the front or the secondary in the right position, that's what he brings and that's the reason why he's out there."
03/16/18 - LB Josh Bynes was re-signed by the Cardinals, the team announced on Friday.
Contract terms were not announced.
Bynes played in 14 games, including one start, last season for the Cardinals. He had 34 tackles, one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, five passes defensed and nine special teams tackles after joining the team on Aug. 5. Bynes signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent out of Auburn in 2011, played three seasons with the Ravens and three with the Detroit Lions.
12/13/17 - LB Josh Bynes has two interceptions in eight career games at University of Phoenix Stadium. He had none in 69 career games played at 26 other NFL venues.
08/14/17 - ILB Josh Bynes, recently signed as a free agent because of injuries at the position, led the Cardinals with a team-high seven tackles in Saturday's 20-10 win over the Raiders. He also was credited with half a sack, a forced fumble and one pass defensed. "I was extremely pleased with Josh Bynes ... who we signed off the street a few weeks ago," Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said Monday during his weekly appearance on the team's flagship radio station. "I thought he played very well, other than there was a play where he had to carry a seam route against a tight end - he got a ball caught on him.
"But he's been a guy that came in, picked up our defense extremely quick, has really good range and straight-line speed. He's physical at the point of attack. He's got some cover ability and he's got some length. ... (We) saw him on tape, thought he was a guy we could bring in off the street and could potentially have a shot at making this roster and compete for a spot. I thought the other night he played very well."
