 Draft Scout James Washington News
03/15/18 - Oklahoma State football hosted its annual Pro Day on Thursday, with 17 Cowboys putting their talent on display in front of personnel from all 32 NFL teams inside the weight room at Boone Pickens Stadium and on the field at the Sherman E. Smith Training Center. NFL Combine participants Mason Rudolph, James Washington, Marcell Ateman, Tre Flowers and Chris Lacy all participated in the event, as well as linebacker Gyasi Akem, offensive tackle Zach Crabtree, cornerback Darius Curry, defensive tackle Ben Hughes, cornerback Malik Kearse, center Brad Lundblade, safety Jerel Morrow, defensive tackle DeQuinton Osborne, safety Ramon Richards, offensive lineman Larry Williams, running back Rennie Childs and wide receiver Brandon Sheperd.

Several Cowboys put up impressive numbers throughout the day, including a 39-inch vertical jump from Washington, a 126-inch broad jump by Lacy and a 4.43 40-yard dash from Washington, to name a few of the day's best. Washington, who is viewed as a potential first-round pick by some, helped his stock on Thursday with a 39-inch vertical jump. It was a 4.5-inch improvement from the mark he set at the combine. He was also clocked at 4.43 in the 40-yard dash by at least one scout, which was 0.11 seconds better than his combine time. - Oklahoma State Football

02/27/18 - 2018 NFL Combine: Athleticism Key for these Prospects: James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State...Washington victimized Big 12 cornerbacks, which also makes it tough to gauge his speed. He is one of the better vertical threats in the class, but does he have 4.35 speed? Or 4.55 speed? That will be an important distinction for scouts. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
01/27/18 - Top 15 Senior Bowl Performers: 6. James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State...Washington was one of the prospects with the most to gain this week, and Oklahoma State's all-time leading receiver didn't disappoint. Despite measuring a hair under 5-foot-11, his 210-pound frame and 34-inch arms were positive numbers. And during individual drills, Washington showed improved releases and route-running to create separation with more than just speed. With all the talented wideouts in Mobile, Washington stood above the rest. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
01/23/18 - Senior Bowl Tuesday: NFL scouts' eyes will be glued to the releases and route-running of Oklahoma State wide receiver James Washington (5-11, 210) this week. And on Day One of practice, the Cowboys' all-time leading receiver did a nice job using his physical nature and strength to work through press coverage and enter his route. Washington's best trait (his strong hands) were also on display, making several contested catches during one-on-ones. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/19/17 - 2017 ALL-BIG 12 FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): WR James Washington, Oklahoma State Sr. Stamford, Texas/Stamford,...Washington was also the recipient of the 2017 Biletnikoff Award presented to the nation's top receiver. He will go down as one of the best and most productive receivers in Oklahoma State history and in the history of the Big 12 Conference. He finished the regular season with 69 catches for 1,423 yards and 12 touchdowns. Washington's 1,423 receiving yards and 118.6 receiving yards per game both led the FBS and his 12 touchdown receptions ranked fourth nationally. He led all FBS players with 17 catches of 30 yards or longer, 10 catches of 40 yards or longer and seven catches of 50 yards or longer. - Oklahoma State Football
