 Draft Scout Braden Smith News
12/13/17 - 2017 ALL-SEC FIRST TEAM (COACHES): OL Braden Smith, Auburn,...Smith, who helped pave the way for Kerryon Johnson, started all 13 games at right guard and has now started 40 consecutive games dating back to 2014. - Auburn Football
12/06/17 - 2017 SEC JACOBS BLOCKING TROPHY AWARD WINNER (COACHES): Braden Smith, Auburn,...Smith started all 13 games this season for Auburn and has helped pave the way for a rushing attack that is averaging 228.2 yards per game. He was a Midseason All-America selection and was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week following the Tigers' win at Texas A&M. - SEC Football
11/16/17 - Auburn senior RG Braden Smith (6-5, 303, 5.12, #71) had another outstanding performance in the win over Auburn, helping Kerryon Johnson have his big day. If not for Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson, Smith would be receiving much more attention as the draft's top guard prospect. - Dane Brugler,
11/07/17 - Nov 7 Stock Report: Who helped themselves? Braden Smith, OG, Auburn, SR. (6-5, 303, 5.12, #71)...Regardless if it needs one yard or a big play, the Auburn offense often runs behind Smith at right guard -- something that happened frequently against Texas A&M as Kerryon Johnson rushed for 145 yards in the victory. Smith is a fluid mover to pull and seal outside run lanes or bury defenders in space. He shows consistent knee bend in his shuffle and is quick to recover after a jab to his chest, flashing violence in his hands to counter and reset his anchor. Smith has the size, strength and mobility to play at the next level and also shows the never-content attitude, keeping busy and always looking for an opposite jersey to hit. Assuming he declares early, Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson is the top offensive line prospect for the upcoming draft, but Smith is the top-rated senior guard prospect and projects as a plug-and-play starter in the NFL. - Dane Brugler,
11/07/17 - NOV 6 SEC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Braden Smith, RG, Auburn...Helped Auburn register 496 yards of total offense, including 228 on the ground and 268 in air...Part of an Auburn offense that scored 42 points, marking the fifth time in the last six SEC games the Tigers have scored 40 or more points...Graded out at 87 percent with a season-high 13 blocks, including eight that led to first downs or touchdowns. - SEC Football
