Hunt was placed on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List and is cannot play as long as he is on that list. The NFL is investigating the February incident as well as a June incident in which he allegedly punched a man at an Ohio resort.

Hunt spoke to ESPN's Lisa Salters on Sunday morning in his first public comments since being released by the Chiefs. "I just want to let the world know how sorry I am for my actions. It's been a tough time for me and I'm extremely embarrassed because of that video," Hunt said. "I'm definitely not that kind of person. My mother raised me right. I was raised by my mom and my grandma and they taught me right from wrong."

11/30/18 - RB Kareem Hunt, who led the NFL in rushing last season, was released by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The team made the announcement Friday night after a video showing him pushing and kicking a woman in February was published earlier in the day.
"Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt," the Chiefs said in a statement. "At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately."
Hunt was placed on the Commissioner Exempt List by the NFL earlier Friday after the video, published by TMZ, showed Hunt shoving and kicking a woman in an incident at a Cleveland hotel last February.
The Chiefs released Hunt less than an hour later.
Neither the NFL nor the Chiefs had seen the video before it was released Friday, a source told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Cleveland Police told NFL.com that no arrests were made in the incident and Hunt has not been charged.
Hunt was seen leaving the Chiefs practice facility about 20 minutes after TMZ Sports released surveillance footage from the hotel in Cleveland, where Hunt was involved in an incident last February. The video shows Hunt arguing with Abigail Ottinger, a 19-year-old student at Kent State, in a hallway at the hotel. At one point, Hunt is seen shoving Ottinger, who hits him in the face. After friends try to hold back Hunt, he pushes one of them into Ottinger, causing both of the others to fall. While Ottinger is on the ground, Hunt is seen kicking her. A woman can be seen with her phone, presumably shooting video of the incident, but another man takes the phone from her. Cleveland Police arrived at the hotel and investigated the incident, which was reported in the media when it happened, but no charges
