Draft Scout Eddie Jackson News
12/31/18 - S Eddie Jackson (ankle) missed his second straight game Sunday against Minnesota but Nagy continues to believe he might have his starting safety back by game time.
12/26/18 - S Eddie Jackson (ankle) is not practicing this week and didn't practice or play last week. It's unlikely he'd be ready to play against the Vikings and the Bears are hoping he'll be healthy enough to take part in practices before their first playoff game.
12/24/18 - S Eddie Jackson sat out Sunday's win with an ankle injury.
12/19/18 - S Eddie Jackson of the Chicago Bears did not practice on Wednesday after sustaining an ankle injury last Sunday in a victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Head coach Matt Nagy, who said Jackson sprained his right ankle on a play in which he intercepted a pass by Aaron Rodgers later in the game, told reporters that the Bears' medical team would monitor the injury over the next few days to see if he can play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. "We gotta take into consideration our situation, of where we are at," said Nagy, whose Bears (10-4) have clinched the NFC North title and have a chance in the last two games to wrap up a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Nagy said that he hopes Jackson, who on Tuesday was named to the NFC team for the Pro Bowl in only his second NFL season, will be able to practice later in the week if he is healthy but that he won't be rushed back.
12/19/18 - S Eddie Jackson limped around in the locker room this week with a boot cast on his right foot and ankle. He won't play against the 49ers and most likely against the Vikings in the regular-season finale. The hope is he might be ready for a wild-card round playoff game.
