Draft Scout Fabian Moreau News
10/26/17 - CB Fabian Moreau (hamstring), a rookie third-round draft pick, remained limited at practice on Thursday.
08/12/17 - CB Fabian Moreau, a 2017 third-round pick from UCLA, practiced on Saturday for the first time. He tore his pectoral muscle during UCLA's Pro Day in March and had missed all of Washington's offseason work and training camp.
07/27/17 - CB Fabian Moreau, Washington's third-round draft pick this past spring, did not land on the non-football injury list. He is, however, still recovering from a torn pectoral muscle suffered in March at his Pro Day at UCLA and will be limited early in camp.
05/26/17 - CB Fabian Moreau, a third-round pick, signed with the Washington Redskins on Friday. Moreau, 23, is recovering from a torn pectoral muscle he suffered at his pro day in March. He is expected to make a full return to the field sometime in late August or early September. The cornerback out of UCLA was projected to be selected in the first or second round before the injury and went 81st overall to the Redskins. In 2016, he made 31 tackles with 12 passes defensed and two interceptions for the Bruins.
03/26/17 - UCLA Pro day: The Bruins boast two potential first-round picks in edge rusher Takkarist McKinley and cornerback Fabian Moreau. Unfortunately, both are currently ailing. McKinley underwent surgery a few weeks ago on his shoulder. As such, he was unable to do anything other than have conversations with scouts Tuesday. Moreau was not expected to do much either after a spectacular showing at the East-West Shrine Game and combine, but he was limited even more after suffering an apparent pectoral injury while competing in the bench press. Bruins head coach Jim Mora eased concerns following the workout, telling the assembled media that Moreau's injury was "being evaluated. I don't think it is anything serious."
If Mora is correct, Moreau has a chance to sneak into the first round. The 6-foot, 206-pound senior cornerback wowed scouts at the combine with one of the more impressive workouts from any player, registering a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, a 38-inch vertical and 11-foot-3 broad jump -- each among the most explosive of any cornerback tested. Better yet, Moreau's athleticism translates well on the football field, where his light feet, fluid change of direction and easy acceleration helped him emerge as a legitimate lockdown cornerback in 2016. Reportedly given a Day 3 grade by scouts heading into the season, Moreau has risen to No. 3 among cornerbacks on NFLDraftScout.com's board, behind only Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore and Alabama's Marlon Humphrey. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
