Draft Scout Jack Doyle News
11/27/18 - TE Jack Doyle (kidney) was placed on reserve/injured by the Colts Tuesday (Nov. 27). While he would normally eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and playing in eight weeks, the first game he would be available would be the Super Bowl. Doyle was injured Sunday and had surgery that night. Coach Frank Reich said Monday, "He was admitted to the hospital last night and had a procedure to control the injury. He is doing well. The prognosis is good, but we are going to have to place him on injured reserve."
Doyle, 6-6, 262 pounds, has played in 84 career games (42 starts) in six seasons (2013-18) with the Colts and has compiled 200 receptions for 1,728 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has seen action in five postseason contests (one start) and has caught seven passes for 30 yards. The Indianapolis native was originally claimed by the Colts off waivers (from Tennessee) on Sept. 1, 2013.
In 2018, Doyle started all six games he appeared in and caught 26 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He was selected to his first career Pro Bowl following the 2017 season after registering career highs in receptions (80) and receiving yards (690) while adding four touchdowns.
11/26/18 - TE Jack Doyle was placed on injured reserve with a kidney injury, the team announced on Monday. Doyle suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins when he took a big hit in the fourth quarter. He was hospitalized as a result of the injury. Colts head coach Frank Reich said he received a text Sunday night that Doyle was having a procedure performed on his kidney. The Colts are 5-1 with Doyle in the lineup this season and 1-4 without him. In his six games this season, Doyle has recorded 26 receptions for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He had four receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 comeback win over the Dolphins.
11/26/18 - TE Jack Doyle's fourth and final catch of the game and season was the 200th of his career. He was placed on injured reserve after suffering a kidney injury that required a hospital procedure on Sunday night. Colts head coach Frank Reich said Doyle is recuperating well and the prognosis is positive.
10/28/18 - TE Jack Doyle, in his first game back after missing five with a hip injury, led the Colts with six receptions for 70 yards and a 10-yard score. He caught four of those passes for 52 yards on the deciding drive.
09/17/18 - TE Jack Doyle's second catch on Sunday against the Washington Redskins tied him with Coby Fleener for fifth in career receptions (183) for a tight end in team history.
