Draft Scout *Greg Olsen News
12/05/18 - TE Greg Olsen (foot) was placed on reserve/injured by the Panthers Wednesday (Dec. 5).
12/04/18 - TE Greg Olsen is finished for the season and will be placed on injured reserve with a foot injury, the Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday. This is not a surprise since Olsen had said earlier that he believed his season was over after he tore the plantar fascia in his right foot in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. It is the same foot that has caused him so much trouble. Olsen missed nine games last year with a Jones fracture in his right foot, and he missed three games early this season with the same problem in the same foot. He had just 17 receptions for 191 yards last season when he played in seven games, and he had 27 catches for 291 yards and four touchdowns in nine games this season. Olsen, 33, signed a contract extension last April that goes through the 2020 season, and it is unclear what Olsen's future holds.
12/03/18 - TE Greg Olsen was lost with a right foot injury Sunday.
Olsen, who did not miss a game from 2008-16, has already missed 12 games since the beginning of the 2017.
"Greg had a good week of practice and we put some things in just for him," coach Ron Rivera said. "Unfortunately, he got hurt. We'll wait to hear from the doctors," he added.
12/03/18 - TE Greg Olsen said he ruptured the plantar fascia in his right foot in the first quarter of Sunday's 24-17 setback to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He did not return to the contest.
12/02/18 - TE Greg Olsen left the game early in the second quarter with a right foot injury and will not return.
On the play he was injured, Olsen pulled up right after the snap without making any contact. He was unable to leave the field on his own and had to be carted off.
Before being hurt, Olsen had one reception for 13 yards.
