11/05/18 - RB Trey Sermon ran for a career-high 206 yards last week against Texas Tech, solidifying his place as the No. 1 running option on the team ahead of Kennedy Brooks. Seven of Sermon's carries in that game were for 10 or more yards. The Sooners are No. 1 in rushing offense in the Big 12 with 246.8 yards per game, well ahead of second-place Oklahoma State at 200.1.
09/17/18 - RB Trey Sermon is the clear No. 1 now that Rodney Anderson is lost for the season with an injury, coach Lincoln Riley said. "He's definitely our one right now. I think a little bit is just seeing how he handles the whole deal, which he did a great job of in the first game against Iowa State," Riley said. "He's really close to breaking loose and making even a few more explosive plays as well. He's definitely one right now, but we're going to need more."

09/25/17 - SEPT 25 BIG-12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: Oklahoma freshman running back Trey Sermon, who was key down the stretch in OU's 49-41 win at Baylor on Saturday, was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Monday morning. Sermon rushed for a career-high 148 yards and two touchdowns, all in the fourth quarter, as the Sooners improved to 4-0 and ran the nation's longest winning streak to 14 games. OU also extended its Big 12 winning streak to 17 contests, matching the school record. The 6-0, 222-pounder from Marietta, Ga., entered the game with OU leading 35-31 and carried the ball 12 times for an average of 12.3 yards per rush. He was one of two Sooners who ran for more than 100 yards (Abdul Adams rushed for 164 and had a 99-yard run).
On third-and-8, Sermon scored on a 34-yard run to put OU up 42-31 with 10:31 left. On the Sooners' next drive, his nine-yard run put them ahead 49-31 with 8:55 to go. Sermon, who carried the ball on 12 of OU's first 16 plays of the final quarter (the Sooners took a knee on the final three plays to run out the clock), is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and 70.8 rushing yards per game on the season.
