 Draft Scout Dallas Goedert News
01/22/18 - 2018 Senior Bowl: 7 Potential Breakout Players: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State, #86, South...The 2018 draft isn't nearly as loaded at tight end as last year, when three players -- OJ Howard (No. 19, Tampa Bay), Evan Engram (No. 23, New York Giants) and David Njoku (No. 29, Cleveland) -- earned first-round picks, the first two cementing their stock in Mobile. The 6-3, 255-pound Goedert is NFLDraftScout.com's top-rated senior at the position, checking in behind only Oklahoma's Mark Andrews, the reigning Mackey Award winner as the nation's top tight end. The physical and athletic Goedert (pronounced God-urt) caught 72 passes for 1,111 yards and seven touchdowns in 2017. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
01/19/18 - TE Dallas Goedert has the physical skill-set, dependable ball skills and football character that could land in him in round one. With almost all his experience coming against FCS-competition, how will he match up against better talent at the Senior Bowl? Goedert is a big, physical athlete with the body control and footwork of a much smaller player, making himself available in his routes with natural adjustment skills. There won't be a linebacker at the Senior Bowl who will be able to cover him, and the safeties will have a tough time matching his aggressive play. With a productive week, Goedert can lock down his status as the No. 1 senior tight end, ahead of Penn State's Mike Gesicki, Indiana's Ian Thomas and others. -- Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/22/17 - 2017 WALTER CAMP FCS ALL-AMERICA TEAM: TE Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State,...Goedert finished as the team leader with 72 receptions and 1,111 receiving yards, while adding seven touchdown catches in 2017. His receiving total leads all Division I tight ends - FCS and FBS - this season. For his career, Goedert ranked third in receptions at SDSU with 198, fourth in receiving yards with 2,988 and sixth with 21 touchdown receptions. - South Dakota State Football
12/20/17 - 2017 AFCA FCS COACHES' FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: TE Dallas Goedert, 6-5 260, Sr., South Dakota State, John Stiegelmeier Britton, S.D. (Britton-Hecla),...Pacing the Jackrabbit contingent was senior tight end Dallas Goedert, who repeated as a first-team selection. During the recently completed 2017 season, Goedert finished as the team leader with 72 receptions and 1,111 receiving yards, while adding seven touchdown catches. His receiving total leads all Division I tight ends FCS and FBS this season. For his career, Goedert ranked third in receptions at SDSU with 198, fourth in receiving yards with 2,988 and sixth with 21 touchdown receptions. Goedert has been a unanimous All-America selection each of the past two seasons and has been honored as a first-team selection in 2017 by The Associated Press, Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association, Phil Steele Publications and STATS. - South Dakota State Football
11/21/17 - The top "small school" prospect in the 2018 draft class, South Dakota State redshirt senior TE Dallas Goedert (6-3, 255, 4.81, #86) recorded 11 catches on Saturday with eight of those receptions resulting in a first down. He leads all tight ends (FCS or FBS) in catches (60) and receiving yards (966) this season. Goedert, who has accepted his Senior Bowl invitation, is in consideration to be the first tight end drafted in April. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
