Draft Scout *Ryan Nall News
01/02/18 - Oregon State running back Ryan Nall has decided to declare for the NFL draft with a year of eligibility remaining. Nall rushed for 2,216 yards during his career, ranked eighth on the Beavers' career list. He ran for 24 touchdowns (seventh) and had nine 100-yard rushing games (seventh). He also had 56 catches for 563 yards and four touchdowns. "When I was recruited four years ago, I was fortunate in knowing that I was going to be in the best hands both academically and athletically," he said in a statement released Tuesday. "My time at Oregon State has been a blessing - both on and off the field - as the memories that I have shared with my teammates, coaches, and Beaver Nation will be with me forever."
A native of Sandy, Oregon, Nall was a standout at Portland's Central Catholic High School and was recruited to Oregon State by then-coach Mike Riley. Nall, who was on track to graduate after the winter term, ran for 810 yards and eight touchdowns this season. He also caught 27 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns. But the year was disappointing for the Beavers, who finished 1-11 and winless in the Pac-12 conference. Coach Gary Andersen resigned midway through and was replaced in the interim with cornerbacks coach Cory Hall. Former Oregon State quarterback Jonathan Smith was named the team's new head coach in late November. "I have known Ryan since he was a high school standout in this state and it has been impressive watching him develop into an outstanding young man with a tremendous future," Smith said. - AP College Football
10/15/17 - RB Ryan Nall ran for a season-best 172 yards and three touchdowns in the game against Colorado. His three touchdowns were one shy of tying his career best of four against Oregon in 2016. He moved his career rushing total to 1,919 yards, moving him into 11th place all-time at OSU.
10/10/17 - RB Ryan Nall needs to get himself back in the lineup and offer the leadership the team will need as it tries to keep itself focused for the rest of the season. Nall was expected to have the offense built around him, but between an inconsistent offensive line and minor health issues, Nall has rushed for only 341 yards this season. While there are capable backups, Nall was the proverbial face of the franchise, not the contributor his statistics would indicate.
07/11/17 - 2017 Preseason Maxwell Award Watchlist: RB Ryan Nall, Oregon State,...The native of Sandy, Ore., enters the season as one of the top offensive standouts in the Pac-12 Conference with 1,406 career yards and 16 touchdowns rushing, and overall has 1,729 all-purpose yards with 18 scores. His current 6.4 yards per carry average is on school record pace and he already ranks No. 22 at OSU for career rushing yards. The Central Catholic High School graduate was the Pac-12 Player of the Week after a 155-yard effort with four touchdowns in last season's victory over Oregon. The speech communication major has also twice been honored by the Pac-12 for his academic success and is among the team leaders for community service leadership. - Oregon State Football
12/16/16 - 2016 ALL-PAC-12 CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): RB Ryan Nall, So.,...Nall finished the season with 951 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns despite missing most of three games. While his ability to break tackles and pick up yards after contact along with his speed to outrun defenders was impressive throughout the 2016 season, his versatility in the passing game was also remarkable as he finished the season third on the team with 22 receptions for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Nall rushed for more than 100 yards in four games on the season and earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors after he ran for 155 yards and four touchdowns in the Beavers' win over Oregon in the season finale. - Oregon State Football
