11/12/16 - De'Angelo Ballard passed for 143 yards, including a touchdown, and piled up 155 more yards rushing to lead Alabama A&M to a 27-20 win over Jackson State on Saturday. After falling behind 17-0 in the first half, Alabama A&M (4-6, 4-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference) tied the game when Devonte Simon returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown with 1:08 left in the second quarter. Nick Carden kicked a 34-yard field goal and Ballard connected with Kalias Robertson on an 11-yard TD pass earlier. A 5-yard touchdown run by Harvey Harris put Alabama A&M on top in the third quarter and Carden padded the advantage with a 29-yard field goal with 1:59 to play. Jordan Bentley had 106 yards rushing. Jackson State (3-7, 3-5) got a 63-yard touchdown run from Joshua Bates and a 1-yard TD throw from Jarin Morikawa to Javancy Jones. Christian Jacquemin had two field goals. - AP Sports
10/30/16 - Jonathan Dorsey hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass in overtime and Nick Carden kicked in the extra point to lift Alabama A&M to a 42-41 win over Alabama State on Saturday. Tied at 35 late in the fourth quarter, Alabama A&M (3-5, 3-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference) missed a 33-yard field goal when Alabama State's Roderick Henderson got an arm up to block it and send the game into OT. The Hornets (2-6, 2-5) scored first in the extra period with a 14-yard touchdown run by Marquell Beckwith but missed the PAT kick. The Bulldogs responded with De'Angelo Ballard's touchdown throw to Dorsey and won the game on Carden's PAT kick. Ballard finished 19 of 35 for 290 yards passing with two touchdowns and added another 101 yards rushing on 19 carries. Jordan Bentley ran for 80 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama A&M. Alabama State's Khalid Thomas ran for 170 yards on 24 carries and 115 yards on three punt returns. - AP Sports
10/16/16 - De'Angelo Ballard ran for three touchdowns and passed for another and Alabama A&M beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 40-7 on Saturday. Ballard scored on runs of 26, 6 and 5 yards and threw 19 yards to Marceles Clash for another score. Ballard finished 17 of 27 for 214 yards passing and ran 89 yards on 15 carries. The Bulldogs (2-5, 2-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference) showed balance, passing for 214 yards and rushing for 253 for 467 yards total offense to 221 for the Golden Lions (1-5, 1-3). The Bulldogs' other scores came on a 1-yard run by Jordan Bentley, who has 91 yards rushing, and Nick Carden field goals of 36 and 46 yards. SWAC tackles leader, Bulldogs linebacker Kenneth Davis, had another 10, hitting his average. The Lions' only score came in the fourth quarter on Brandon Duncan's 19-yard pass to Willie Young. Duncan was 15 of 27 for 140 yards. - AP Sports
