 Draft Scout Kelly Bryant News
12/06/18 - QB Kelly Bryant will join Missouri as a transfer for next season, the school announced Thursday.
12/05/18 - Former Clemson starting quarterback Kelly Bryant says he'll play his final season at Missouri. Bryant released a video on social media that ended with a player in a Missouri uniform and fans chanting "M-I-Z" for its nickname "Mizzou." Bryant had visited several schools after he announced his transfer from Clemson because he was demoted as starting quarterback behind freshman Trevor Lawrence. Others he met with included Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State and North Carolina. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Bryant helped Clemson win an Atlantic Coast Conference title and reach the College Football Playoff in 2017. He started the first four games for Clemson this season before Lawrence took the starting job. Bryant was 16-2 as Clemson's starter. He threw for 3,263 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions the last two seasons. - AP College Football
12/01/18 - QB Kelly Bryant will resume his career in the Southeastern Conference. Bryant has visit a number of schools since deciding to walk away from the Clemson program earlier this season, but the Kansas City Star reported that he has narrowed his decision to Missouri and Auburn. Earlier, this month, Rivals.com reported that Bryant set a date of Dec. 4 to select his graduate transfer destination. Bryant, who announced plans to transfer from Clemson after coach Dabo Swinney chose freshman Trevor Lawrence as the team's starting quarterback in late September, is visiting Auburn this weekend.
10/12/18 - QB Kelly Bryant is planning to visit North Carolina this weekend. Bryant, who announced he planned to transfer from Clemson last month after losing his starting job to Trevor Lawrence, has been in contact with the Tar Heels' coaching staff, 247sports.com reported. There is a high demand for Bryant, who will have one year of eligibility remaining. He also is scheduled to visit Arkansas on Oct. 20 and has drawn the interest of more than 15 Power Five programs, Rivals.com reported.
09/26/18 - Quarterback Kelly Bryant has decided to transfer from Clemson after losing his starting role to freshman Trevor Lawrence, according to a published report on Wednesday. Bryant declared his intentions to The Greenville News after meeting with coach Dabo Swinney. The latter described Monday's meeting with Bryant as "emotional" and allowed him to take the day off from practice, although the senior quarterback skipped Tuesday's session as well. "They asked me how I felt about it," Bryant told the newspaper about his meeting with Swinney. "I was like, 'I'm not discrediting Trevor. He's doing everything asked of him, but on my side of it, I feel like I haven't done anything to not be the starter. I've been here. I've waited my turn. I've done everything y'all have asked me to do, plus more.' "I've never been a distraction. I've never been in trouble with anything. To me, it was kind of a slap in the face."

Bryant has posted a 16-2 record as a starter and led Clemson to the College Football Playoffs last year. He started the first four games this season, but split time with Lawrence. "I feel like it's what's best for me and my future," Bryant said of his decision to transfer. "I was just going to control what I could control and try to make the most of my opportunity, but at the end of the day, I just don't feel like I've gotten a fair shot." Bryant has completed 36 of 54 passes for 461 yards with two touchdowns and one interception this season. He has also rushed for 130 yards and two scores. - The Sports Xchange
