 Draft Scout *James Daniels News
02/28/18 - 2018 NFL Combine: Interior OL Measures Up to Expectations: Iowa's James Daniels, a junior currently second on NFLDraftScout.com's center rankings, came through with a more prototypical 6-foot-3 3/8 inches, 306 pounds, along with 9 1/2-inch hands, 33 3/4-inch arms and an 80 1/4-inch wingspan. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
02/27/18 - 2018 NFL Combine: Must-see Prospects per Position: OL James Daniels, Iowa, 6-3, 295, 5.24...Currently ranked 2nd among Cs, 51st overall and a 2nd-round value...Apologies to projected top 10 pick Quenton Nelson, but at least from an athleticism and medical standpoint, Daniels is the Must-See offensive linemen of the Combine. Don't let his projected 40-yard dash number fool you, Daniels shows rare initial quickness, balance and agility, and scouts are eager to get measurements on his height, weight and arm length. For as excited as scouts are about Daniels' perceived upside, he does come with medical red flags, missing time due to knee problems each of the past two seasons. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
02/26/18 - OL James Daniels is the Must-See offensive linemen of the Combine. -- Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
01/05/18 - Iowa confirmed the departures of cornerback Josh Jackson, center James Daniels and reserve quarterback Tyler Wiegers. The Hawkeyes say in a release that Jackson and Daniels intend to declare for the NFL draft, while Eastern Michigan announced this week that Wiegers is joining its program as a graduate transfer. Jackson led the nation with eight interceptions and 26 passes defended and earned consensus first-team All-America honors in his first season as a starter. Daniels might be as big of a loss as Jackson. Daniels started 25 games in three seasons at Iowa, anchoring a line that struggled at times in 2016. - AP College Football
12/15/17 - 2017 ALL-BIG TEN HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): James Daniels,...In addition to Jewell and Jackson, sophomore defensive end Anthony Nelson was named a third team selection by conference media and was honorable mention by coaches. Senior defensive tackle Nathan Bazata and senior outside linebacker Ben Niemann were honorable mention selections by both coaches and media. Senior safety Miles Taylor is Iowa's Sportsmanship Award recipient. - Iowa Football
