 Draft Scout *Josh Rosen News
04/22/18 - Ex-UCLA coach Jim Mora defended his former quarterback again as the 2018 NFL Draft approaches. The draft begins Thursday. UCLA QB Josh Rosen and USC's Sam Darnold are among the top quarterbacks expected to be taken early. Mora wrote on Twitter on Sunday that Rosen will win championships and may even be a Hall of Famer. "Those that question (Rosen) and his toughs, competitiveness and love of the game are so far off anything I've seen in 6+ years knowing this man," Mora wrote. "He's the real deal, he has it all, he will be a great one, he will win championships. ... I've had the amazing fortune of being around 24 members of the Pro Football HOF, I believe we may see Josh Rosen enshrined one day. A lot of work to do, a lot of games/championships to win, but he has the qualities to do it."
03/15/18 - According to a longtime scout at the UCLA Pro Day, Rosen completed "just about everything" he threw Thursday, including several off-script passes requested by coaches attending the workout. There were plenty of big names at the event, including decision-makers for clubs holding top 10 picks and in need of quarterback help -- like Cleveland Browns VP of Player Personnel Alonzo Highsmith, Denver Broncos' general manager John Elway and head coach Vance Joseph, and New York Jets' GM Mike Maccagnan. Rosen "looked really good," completing a variety of passes to all levels of the field, showing the trademark accuracy, zip and touch that has earned him praise throughout the process (including during the Combine throwing sessions) as the most polished passer in this year's class.

The only real off-target throw of the day, in fact, came on a busted route by a receiver who appeared to pull a hamstring while tracking the ball. Even with his receiver slowing up, Rosen's pass was "still a good ball," according to the scout. The scout further noted that there were "definite wind gusts" throughout the workout and that Rosen "handled them well, especially on deep balls." Rosen is projected to be drafted sixth overall by the Jets in my mock draft, as well as the mock draft by's Dane Brugler. - Rob Rang,

03/03/18 - 2018 NFL Combine, Saturday: Rosen is about as smooth as it gets for a three-year collegian who turned 21 less than a month ago. Those paying close attention might note that several of Rosen's passes during the afternoon gauntlet drill were dropped, but many of these appeared to be just that -- mistakes by receivers despite well thrown passes. - Rob Rang,
02/28/18 - 2018 NFL Combine Quotes: On what he'd like to see from QB Josh Rosen this week: "Josh is a very talented quarterback. He looks like a pro on tape, but meeting with him and watching him throw and compete this week is going to be a help to the evaluation. He's definitely a good football player." - Vance Joseph, Head Coach, Denver Broncos
02/27/18 - 2018 NFL Combine: Key Medical Evaluations: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA...One of the top quarterbacks and overall players in this class, Rosen missed eight combined games the past two seasons due to an injury to his throwing shoulder and multiple concussions. While not undersized, he doesn't have ideal body armor or athleticism to evade the rush. - Dane Brugler,
