11/17/15 - Parker McKenzie threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jamie Walker on fourth down with 22 seconds remaining to give Abilene Christian a 21-17 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday. Starting at their own 20, the Wildcats drove down the field in 18 plays, using 7:46 of the clock. McKenzie and Walker combined on a fourth-down pass for 11 yards to keep the drive going. The Lions led 17-7 after D'Shaie Londor's 15-yard pass to Chris Briggs on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Wildcats took the kickoff and went 75 yards in five plays, including completions of 31 and 14 yards before McKenzie threw 14 yards to Monte Green-Avery to cut the deficit to 17-14. The Wildcats (3-7, 3-6 Southland) snapped a six-game losing streak while the Lions (5-5, 3-5) lost their third straight. McKenzie was 21 of 28 for 219 yards and had an interception. 09/20/15 - Parker McKenzie threw three touchdown passes, Herschel Sims ran for two more and Abilene Christian cruised to a 49-21 win over Houston Baptist on Saturday night. Trailing 14-7 early in the second quarter, Abilene Christian (1-1, 1-0 Southland) scored 35 consecutive points to take control of the game. Jonathan Epps hauled in two touchdown catches from McKenzie, while Sims scored on 9- and 35-yard runs as the Wildcats won their third straight over Houston Baptist (1-2, 0-1). De'Andre Brown punched in a touchdown from the 1, Cedric Gilbert caught an 8-yard TD pass from McKenzie and Jamie Walker grabbed a 3-yard pass from Cody Ennis for the Wildcats, who held the Huskies to just 74 yards passing. Houston Baptist, in its third football season, got two rushing touchdowns from B.J. Kelly and a third from Mev Ajdin. Terrance Peters ran for 112 yards on 13 carries. - AP Sports
11/16/14 - Nick Grau kicked a 31-yard field goal with 5:48 remaining to give Abilene Christian to a 37-35 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday. Abilene Christian (6-6, 4-4 Southland Conference) closed out its first season in the conference with a victory. The Lumberjacks (7-4, 4-3) had a chance to win it, but Jordan Wiggs drove a 27-yard field goal attempt wide left with 1:19 remaining. Wiggs, who is SFA's all-time point leader, has made 72.9% of his field goal attempts. Grau had a 35-yarder in the first quarter and booted a 26-yard field goal at the end of the first half to give ACU a 26-21 lead. Gus Johnson, who rushed for 158 yards, scored from the 31 early in the fourth to give SFA a 35-34 lead. 10/17/14 - SEPT 15 SOUTHLAND OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Parker McKenzie, Abilene Christian,...McKenzie led Abilene Christian from a 14-point deficit to a 38-35 win over FBS member Troy to give the Wildcats' their first win over an FBS foe since 1959. The redshirt-sophomore from Spring Branch, Texas (Smithson Valley H.S.), finished the game by completing 73.5 percent of his passes (25 of 34) for 312 yards and two touchdowns. McKenzie was extremely effective in the second half, connecting on 13 of 18 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns. With ACU trailing 28-14 with 9:21 left in the third quarter, McKenzie led the Wildcats to 24 consecutive points for a 38-28 lead with 1:17 left in the game. ACU's win over Troy marked the 21st win by a Southland school over an FBS opponent since 2000. The redshirt sophomore from Spring Branch, Texas (Smithson Valley H.S.), connected on touchdown passes of 60, 24, 23 and seven yards. His 403 yards in the air tied for the 17th-best single-game total in ACU history.
