12/01/18 - (QB) - Alan Bowman, Fr, 6-2, 210
QB Alan Bowman has no plans to transfer from the school. There was speculation about Bowman's future after the university fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was fired Sunday after the Red Raiders finished 5-7 this season. However, Bowman put to rest any of those worries and said he is eager to work with new head coach Matt Wells, who was hired away from Utah "I'm here for Texas Tech. I love the university, love the team," Bowman said, per the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. "I met with the coaches yesterday, really enjoyed 'em, so I'm excited for it."

11/07/18 - (QB) - Alan Bowman, Fr, 6-2, 210
Texas Tech quarterback Alan Bowman has been released from a hospital again after sustaining a partially collapsed lung for the second time this season. The school said Bowman was released Wednesday and would return to team activities Thursday. The freshman was hospitalized four nights after both injuries. Coach Kliff Kingsbury hasn't said when Bowman can play again. Sophomore Jett Duffey is expected to replace Bowman as the starter again Saturday night against Texas. Kingsbury said Bowman's injury in a 51-46 loss to sixth-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday wasn't as severe the second time. Bowman was injured on a hit late in the first half. He tried to warm up during halftime but didn't go back in the game. The first injury happened when Bowman was sandwiched between a pair of defenders in a 42-34 loss to No. 7 West Virginia on Sept. 29. He was leading the nation in passing going into that game. - AP College Football

11/04/18 - (QB) - Alan Bowman, Fr, 6-2, 210
Texas Tech freshman quarterback Alan Bowman was transported to Lubbock's Covenant Medical to be evaluated for a recurrence of a partially collapsed lung, the team announced. Bowman initially sustained the injury against West Virginia on Sept. 29. He reportedly aggravated the injury after being on the receiving end of a hard hit from Oklahoma linebacker Chris Bolton late in the second quarter. Per head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Bowman was having issues "catching his breath" during warm-ups prior to the start of the second half. In addition, he experienced discomfort in throwing passes with teammates and retreated to the locker room. "(Bowman is being) evaluated for a recurrence of his previous injury (partially collapsed lung) that occurred in the West Virginia game. He will be held overnight for observation," a statement from the team read. Bowman finished 21 of 26 for 227 yards and two touchdowns before exiting the contest. Jett Duffey came on in relief and threw for two touchdowns and ran for another for Texas Tech, which fell to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in Big 12 play after dropping a 51-46 decision to the Sooners. Duffey or season-opening starter McLane Carter would get the nod next week against Texas should Bowman be unable to play. - The Sports Xchange
