11/20/18 - (QB) - Eric Dungey, Sr, 6-3, 226
Syracuse coach Dino Babers says he's hopeful quarterback Eric Dungey will be available for the 19th-ranked Orange's season finale at Boston College. Dungey was injured Saturday in a 36-3 loss to No. 3 Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium . It was announced as an upper-body injury, with no more details provided. Babers said Monday he had no update on Dungey's status, but added the senior was able to get into a hot tub on his own Sunday. Dungey was hurt after running into the middle of the Irish defense for a short gain in the first quarter Saturday. He got up and was setting up the Orange's no-huddle offense for the next play when he went back to the ground and reached around to his lower back. He left the game and did not return. Dungey has missed 10 entire games with injuries in his Syracuse career. - AP College Football

11/14/18 - (QB) - Eric Dungey, Sr, 6-3, 226
After Syracuse defeated Louisville in the home season finale Friday night, Orange coach Dino Babers brought the seniors out of the locker room to mingle one last time with their fans inside the Carrier Dome. Quarterback Eric Dungey lingered longer than most, snapping selfie after selfie with fans. It was a moment to savor for one of the most dynamic players in school history as No. 12 Syracuse (8-2, 5-2 ACC) continued its return to respectability under the leadership of its third-year coach and his star quarterback. "We've been through a lot," Dungey said. "It's just been an incredible experience."

That skinny kid who was thrust into the season opener his freshman year when senior Terrel Hunt suffered a career-ending injury, then delivered a victory in his first college start the next week, has overcome at least one concussion and a broken foot to flourish at Syracuse. Dungey holds or shares 16 team records - from passing yards per game in a season (297.7) to career 300-yard passing games (10) to total offense per game for a season (330.2) and career (294.3) to most rushing yards in a game by a quarterback (200). He has 10,594 total yards, fifth all-time in the ACC, and needs just 71 yards rushing to reach 2,000 for his career. "I think it's the confidence I have in myself," said Dungey, who starred at Lakeridge High School outside Portland, Oregon, but had few college suitors. "I was under-recruited. Our confidence wasn't as high as it should have been. - AP College Football

11/09/18 - (RB) - Moe Neal, Jr, 5-11, 191
Moe Neal rushed for a career-best 159 yards and two touchdowns, quarterback Eric Dungey ran for two more scores and passed for another, and No. 13 Syracuse took advantage of five Louisville miscues to rout the Cardinals 54-23 on Friday night. The Orange (8-2, 5-2 ACC, No. 13 CFP) scored 27 points off five Louisville (2-8, 0-7 ACC) errors, rushed for 292 yards and accumulated 518 yards of total offense. Syracuse finished the season unbeaten in six games in the Carrier Dome for the fourth time since the building opened in 1980. The Cardinals were penalized 17 times for 125 yards, and Syracuse picked off two Louisville passes. Louisville also lost two fumbles and their quarterbacks, under pressure most of the game, were sacked five times. The win was the fourth straight for the Orange, while Louisville lost its seventh straight. The eight wins tied the most victories for Syracuse in a regular season since 1998. Louisville's three quarterbacks were a combined 14 of 31 for 210 yards. The win sets up a showdown for the Orange next Saturday against No. 3 Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium. - AP College Football

Eric Dungey rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, Jarveon Howard ran for two scores and No. 22 Syracuse beat Wake Forest 41-24 on Saturday. Dungey - whose average of 294.1 total yards per game ranks second in the ACC - was 23 of 35 for 157 yards and also ran for a 26-yard score to help the Orange (7-2, 4-2, No. 19 CFP) win their first game as a Top 25 team since the Dwight Freeney days in 2001. Moe Neal added an 8-yard score, Chris Elmore had a 5-yard TD run and Andre Szmyt kicked two field goals for Syracuse, which earned its first conference road victory in more than two years. Sam Hartman was 21 of 37 for 275 yards for the Demon Deacons (4-5, 1-4) with two touchdown passes. His 8-yarder to Greg Dortch pulled them to 35-24 with 3:38 left in the third quarter. But after Wake Forest forced a stop, Hartman fumbled at his own 34 and Syracuse turned that takeaway into Szmyt's 28-yard field goal that put Orange up by 14 with 11:55 left. Cade Carney had a 2-yard touchdown run and Nick Sciba kicked a 22-yard field goal to give Wake Forest an early 10-0 lead. - AP College Football

10/20/18 - (QB) - Tommy DeVito, rFr, 6-2, 211
Tommy DeVito, in relief of a struggling Eric Dungey, hit tight end Ravian Pierce on a 4-yard scoring play in the second overtime and Syracuse defeated North Carolina 40-37 on Saturday. DeVito, who entered the game in the fourth quarter, sent it to overtime with a 42-yard touchdown pass to Nykeim Johnson with 1:39 to go. His 25-yard touchdown pass to Jamal Custis gave the Orange a brief lead in the first overtime. "You gotta be happy to get a game like that especially in double overtime," DeVito said. "To have the guys rally around you and to pull it off like this is special."

Syracuse (5-2, 2-2 ACC) appeared to be on its way to a third straight loss - and second straight in overtime - until DeVito's heroics. North Carolina (1-5, 1-3) rallied from a 20-7 deficit to take a 27-20 lead with 10 minutes to go in regulation but dropped its third straight game. DeVito, a redshirt freshman, was 11-of-19 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Dungey was 17 of 33 for 225 yards but struggled to find a rhythm throughout. "As far as me preparation-wise, I always like to prepare like I'm starter and always be ready for any given moment because you know anything can happen and sure enough it did so I was ready for the moment," he said. "I was confident with the guys around me." "He did a great job, coming in that type of situation. He's a great quarterback. We know what he's capable of and he put it on display today," said Syracuse running back Moe Neal. "It's a great win for him." - AP College Football

09/08/18 - (QB) - Eric Dungey, Sr, 6-3, 226
Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey is a hungry man, and for the second game in a row Saturday he helped his team gorge itself on points. Dungey tied a school record by tossing five touchdown passes to pace Syracuse to a 62-10 rout of Wagner in its home opener. The Orange improved to 2-0 while FCS Wagner dropped to 1-1. Dungey's effort comes a week after he rushed for 200 yards and threw for two touchdowns in a 55-42 win over Western Michigan.

"You've just got to annihilate (opponents). It's just kind of a mindset you've got to have," Dungey said. "I feel like we should have won by more. Just from my standpoint, I feel like we could have done a lot better. We could have scored more and more. It's going to be good film to watch. It's going to be good film to watch and learn from." Playing into the third quarter, Dungey completed 23 of 32 passes for 218 yards and threw one interception. He hit five different receivers for scores: Sean Riley, Nykeim Johnson, Jamal Custis, Taj Harris and Ravian Pierce.
