Indiana's offensive line, which struggled for long stretches of Friday's 23-20 season-opening win against Illinois, will now have to replace one of its steadiest veterans for the rest of the season. Matthew Bedford, a mainstay since his freshman season in 2019 who started at right tackle Friday, tore his ACL in the first half against Illinois and will be out for the year. Three-plus seasons in Bloomington, Bedford had appeared in 29 games, 28 of them starts. He was a stalwart in 2019 and 2020, before being asked to move around more last season in an effort to strengthen a beleaguered line. - Indianapolis Star
