  Draft Scout by Conference

Memphis football got a boost to its secondary Saturday with former Kentucky safety Joel Williams committing to the Tigers. Williams announced his decision on Twitter, and it comes after he entered the transfer portal on Aug. 8. He has three years of eligibility remaining and arrives as Memphis begins the fall semester Monday. Williams signed with Kentucky in 2020 and played in 16 games with five tackles over the past two seasons. He was a four-star recruit from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. If Williams is eligible to play immediately, he comes to Memphis as the team begins its final week of preseason practice. The Tigers open their season on Sept. 3 at Mississippi State. - Memphis Commercial Appeal
