UTSA has placed a league-high 14 players on the Phil Steele Preseason Conference USA Team. The defending conference champion Roadrunners' 14 selections are tied with UAB for the most of any team while UTSA also has the most first-team selections with six, one more than the Blazers. UTSA's first-team honorees include quarterback Frank Harris, wide receiver Zakhari Franklin, center Ahofitu Maka, linebacker Trevor Harmanson, safety Rashad Wisdom and punter Lucas Dean. A trio of Roadrunners landed on the second team in tight end Oscar Cardenas, offensive tackle Makai Hart and long snapper Caleb Cantrell.

UTSA has four third-team picks in wide receiver De'Corian Clark, linebacker Dadrian Taylor and cornerback Corey Mayfield Jr. Defensive tackle Brandon Brown and linebacker Jamal Ligon earned spots on the fourth team. Coming off a record-setting 12-2 campaign last fall, UTSA will open its 12th season of play and third under 2021 C-USA Coach of the Year Jeff Traylor on Sept. 3 against Houston. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome in a game that will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. - Texas-San Antonio Football
