  05/20/22 - WR Chase CotarSr/2023, Oregon

One of the most discussed of UO's nine incoming transfers this offseason, Cota chose to cap his college career in his home state and where his dad played. He cited offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham and receivers coach Junior Adams with outlining the plan and vision for the offense that made coming to Oregon from UCLA the move in his final season. "It was definitely still a tough decision," Cota said. "As much as it would be great to come back home, which I ended up doing, and playing for the Ducks because I grew up a Duck fan it also was the best spot for my last year of college football and where I thought I could fit in the best and have an impact and set myself up for success." Cota had 18 catches for 286 yards and a touchdown last season and had 49 catches for 597 yards with five scores during his first three seasons.

That makes him by far UO's most experienced and productive returning receiver, albeit with all that production with the Bruins. "Ultimately, I think Chase has played in this league and has some serious experience in this league," Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. "The familiarity with this place and the place that he wanted to be I think appealed to him. So it was just kind of a perfect match." His six catches for 100 yards during the spring game showed Cota's sure hands, route running and willingness to take contact in various areas of the field. - The Oregonian
