With former-SEC transfer Nick Starkel out of eligibility, his heir apparent appeared to be backup Nick Nash, who filled in admirably during six starts as an injury replacement. But another dual-threat QB from the Mountain West entered the picture in Hawaii transfer Chevan Cordeiro. "His ability to make every throw, we've seen him do that against us," Brennan said. As a redshirt freshman in 2019, Cordeiro threw for over 300 yards and three TDs and ran for another pair in 42-40 victory over SJSU. "I've been a fan of that young guy ever since," Brennan said. Also added to the mix is incoming freshman Tyler Voss, a three-star recruit out of Southern California. "He spins it as cleans as anybody I've seen, but he also has the ability to move," Brennan said. - San Jose Mercury News
