A week off was just what Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis needed. As the Seminoles prepare to host Pittsburgh Saturday, few players needed the time off than Travis, who left the field following the team's disappointing 48-16 loss to Louisville two weeks ago battered and bruised. Through the first six games of the season, including three consecutive starts, the redshirt sophomore has endured a litany of injuries to everything from his legs to his throwing hand and shoulder. The West Palm Beach native appeared limited during the loss to the Cardinals and was replaced by true freshman Chubba Purdy late in the fourth quarter.

"I think it was big-time help for him," FSU coach Mike Norvell said of the bye's impact on Travis. "He's played extremely hard these last three games, four games. He's done a nice job, but he's had some bumps and bruises along the way. "He's done a good job during the week making sure he's getting treatment and taking care of his body in a normal workweek but having the bye week allowed him to be able to step back and have a few couple days to heal up." Travis said the off week came at a good time. "It helped me heal, for sure," Travis said. "My body feels good and mentally, it did a lot for me so I could focus on the week in practice [and]...all the little things about the offense." - Sun-Sentinel
