  More than 19 months have gone by since Chris Evans last suited up in a Michigan uniform. That streak would have ended this weekend under normal circumstances, but a postponement by the Big Ten has the Wolverines running back wondering when he might play football again. Evans was on hand Saturday for a parent-led protest in Ann Arbor, attended by head coach Jim Harbaugh, hoping to convince the conference to reverse its decision. "Taking it one day at a time," Evans, who's listed at 5-foot-11 and 216 pounds, said. "Everybody working hard until we hear something new. "Whenever they say we can play, we're ready."

While most of his teammates last played on Jan. 1, Evans hasn't played a game in the maize and blue since December 2018. He was suspended by the university for most of 2019 due to academic reasons; though he's never discussed the details. The Indianapolis, Indiana, native remained in Ann Arbor during that time, helped coach football and tried to stay in shape. "Just trusting the process and getting ready to play, day in and day out," Evans said. "It's going to be tough - me being out, not being able to play football since '18. But I'll be ready to go when the time comes." - Ann Arbor News
