  Draft Scout by Conference

Brandon Aiyuk had a breakout season for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2019, emerging as the team's most potent big-play threat. It paid off as the 6-foot, 205-pound wide receiver was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers with the 25th pick of the first round. He is the 26th player selected out of ASU in the NFL's first round. This also makes the second straight season in which a Sun Devil wide receiver has been chosen in the opening round, with N'Keal Harry going to the New England Patriots with the 32nd and final pick of the first round a year ago. Draft festivities had been scheduled for Las Vegas but the coronavirus pandemic resulted in those plans being scrapped. Commissioner Roger Goodell made he announcement of each team's selection from his basement with team officials in separate locations as well.

Aiyuk was the sixth receiver chosen in a draft that is deep at that position. He was the third Pac-12 player chosen, following Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert (Chargers) and USC offensive tackle Austin Jackson (Dolphins) who went sixth and 18th, respectively. Aiyuk, who watched festivities with his family in Reno, Nevada, played only two years for the Sun Devils, arriving in 2018 after playing two years at Sierra Community College. In 25 games at ASU, he recorded 98 catches for 1,666 yards and 11 touchdowns. - Arizona Republic
