Only one Baylor Bear has won the Heisman Trophy. During the 2011 season - aptly dubbed across all Baylor sports as the Year of the Bear - Robert Griffin III made history as the first to receive the award. Star quarterback Charlie Brewer could go down as one of the best in Baylor's history. Does he have a viable shot at becoming the next Heisman winner? Talent aside, Brewer's storied college career makes a compelling case. His freshman season coincided with the beginning of the Matt Rhule era.

Brewer endured the rebuilding years and helped the Bears go from a 1-11 record in 2017 to an impressive 11-3 turnaround in 2019, complete with an appearance in the Big 12 championship game and a trip to the Sugar Bowl. Brewer's production has steadily increased over the last three years - he finished last season with a career-high 3,161 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. If he can maintain that upward trajectory and have a solid senior campaign, he might be able to increase the odds of bringing the trophy back to Baylor. - Dallas Morning News
