09/17/17 - Dalton Sturm threw for four touchdowns and ran for a fifth, all in the first half, as UT San Antonio dismantled Southern 51-17 in a nonconference game Saturday night. Sturm put the Roadrunners on the board less than three minutes into the game, firing a 30-yard touchdown pass to Kerry Thomas Jr. Jalen Rhodes scored from 8-yards out and Tyrell Clay punched in from the 2 to give UT San Antonio a 21-0 lead after one quarter. Sturm sandwiched a pair of touchdown passes to Shaq Williams, from 17- and 14-yards out, around his own 8-yard run for a score in the second quarter, then capped his first half with an 11-yard pass to Josh Stewart for a 48-0 lead. Bryce Rivera took over at quarterback for UT San Antonio in the second half and his pass was picked off by Danny Johnson and returned 61 yards for Southern's first score. - AP College Football
09/10/17 - The Texas-San Antonio defense squashed Baylor and Roadrunners quarterback Dalton Sturm made enough plays to lift his team to a 17-10 victory on Saturday night at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas. Baylor kicker Connor Martin kicked a 20-yard field goal to make it a one-score game with 2:40 left in the fourth quarter. The Bears got the ball back with 2:08 remaining, but UTSA stopped Baylor's final drive at the Bears' 39-yard line. UTSA linebacker Josaih Tauaefa wrapped up Baylor quarterback Anu Solomon on a fourth-and-10 play, forcing Solomon to throw a wobbly, incomplete pass. Tauaefa's play iced it for the Roadrunners (1-0). UTSA held Baylor (0-2) to 274 yards total offense. - The Sports Xchange
11/27/16 - Dalton Sturm and Jared Johnson combined for 414 yards passing and three touchdowns and UTSA defeated Charlotte 33-14 on Saturday night to become bowl eligible for the first time in the six-year history of the program. Sturm connected with Kerry Thomas on a 73-yard score and 13 yards to Brady Jones in the first half with the Roadrunners (6-6, 5-3 Conference USA) leading 17-7 at intermission. Victor Falcon kicked his second field goal in the third quarter for a 20-7 lead before Juwan Foggie picked up a mishandled punt snap and scored from 3 yards out for Charlotte (4-8, 3-5). Johnson came on for UTSA and led two fourth-quarter touchdown drives, passing 20 yards to Marquez McNair for a score, and Jalen Rhodes capping a 77-yard drive with a 2-yard TD run. Thomas finished with a school-record 145 yards receiving. Sturm threw for 286 yards and Johnson 128. - AP Sports
10/30/16 - Dalton Sturm threw for two touchdowns and Jalen Rhodes ran for two more to lead UTSA to a 31-17 win over North Texas on Saturday night. Sturm had touchdown passes of 7 yards to Kerry Thomas Jr. and 21 to Josh Stewart to give the Roadrunners (4-4, 3-2 Conference USA) a 14-0 halftime lead. The Mean Green (4-4, 2-2) got on the board on the first snap of the second half when quarterback Mason Fine broke off an 80-yard run, but Rhodes' 9-yard run made it 24-7 after three quarters. Rhodes added a 19-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that made it 31-10 before Fine connected with Kenny Buyers for a 10-yard score. North Texas rushed for 152 yards after getting just 21 in the first half and had a 409-318 advantage in total offense, but the Mean Green had four turnovers. Fine passed for 257 yards and ran for 91 - after losing 19 on two sacks on the final possession - but had two interceptions and lost a fumble. - AP Sports
10/16/16 - Dalton Sturm threw two touchdown passes in the first half and Texas-San Antonio held on to beat Rice 14-13 on Saturday night. UTSA (3-3, 2-1 Conference USA) has won two straight since snapping a three-game skid. Rice (0-6, 0-4) is off to its worst start since losing its first nine games and finishing 2-10 in 2009. Sturm threw a 75-yard TD pass and a 28-yard score, both to Josh Stewart between the first and second quarters. Tyler Stehling ran for a 13-yard touchdown, capping a 13-play, 75-yard opening drive for the Owls, but Hayden Tobola missed the extra point. Stehling threw a 13-yard TD pass to Samuel Stewart in the third quarter. Tobola missed a 50-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 42-yarder with 1:27 remaining. Rice forced a three-and-out with 29 seconds left on the Roadrunners' next series. Stehling completed 2 of 3 passes and drove to the UTSA 27 before time expired. - AP Sports
