2021 ALL-BIG TEN HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Rasheed Walker,...Walker, who was on the preseason Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Watch Lists, leads the returnees with 32 starts, all at left tackle...Penn State did not allow a sack against Auburn on 33 pass attempts and against Indiana on 34 pass attempts...The Penn State offensive line helped the Nittany Lions to rush for 240 yards and two touchdowns against Ball State. - Penn State Football

The Nittany Lions could have two bookends opposite each other on the offensive line if things break right in 2021. Rasheed Walker and Caedan Wallace have both displayed the type of upside at tackle to make one think that's possible this season and both should see vast majority of starts at left and right tackle, respectively. Walker is the more veteran of the pair but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be more consistent. The redshirt junior has made 22 career starts at left tackle - all 13 in 2019 and all nine in 2020 - with one great season and one subpar season. His 2019 campaign showed everything you would want to see in a starting tackle. He used his length and strength to keep pass rushers at bay, while also using his feet to get back inside when they tried to counter his initial contact. Walker translated his power into the running game as well, moving defenders back and driving through them with good bend at his knees. - Centre Times

Penn State redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Rasheed Walker will return for the 2021 season, he announced via Twitter on Tuesday evening. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Waldrof, Maryland, native started at left tackle in all nine games last season for the Nittany Lions. He played a pivotal role in helping the offensive line turn things around - the unit gave up 20 sacks through the team's 0-5 start to the season before surrendering only eight sacks in its final four games. - Centre Times

2020 ALL-BIG TEN FOOTBALL HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Rasheed Walker,...Will Fries (41 career starts), Michal Menet (33), Walker (21) and Miranda (17) have started all eight games on the Nittany Lion offensive line this season. The unit helped the Nittany Lion offense to gain 488 yards, including 250 on the ground, in the season opener at Indiana. At Nebraska, the offensive line paved the way for the Nittany Lions to gain 501 yards, including 245 on the ground. Penn State then toped that mark the following week at Rutgers, as the line led the way for the Nittany Lions to rush for 248 yards, their fourth 245-plus yard rushing game of the season. - Penn State Football

Will Fries and Walker return to solidify the edge as the team's two starting offensive tackles. Both offensive linemen started all 13 games on their respective sides of the line. Walker is the younger of the duo as a redshirt sophomore and showed more upside than his teammate in 2019. He has prototypical size for an elite offensive tackle and showed he was capable of protecting the quarterback's blind side as the Nittany Lions' left tackle. Walker is a good athlete for a 6-foot-6, 320-pound lineman, and took on the conference's best pass rushers last year.

He was inconsistent in his footwork and could get caught off-balance on occasion, but Walker's redshirt sophomore season was largely a success. He used his strong base to power through his man and then utilized his athleticism to get to the second level in the running game frequently. Walker struggled when defenders could catch him leaning in either direction as a pass protector. They took advantage with a quick change of direction that shook the Penn State offensive tackle's balance. More often than not he was leaning on his right foot when he was caught, giving up the edge to pass rushers. He'll need to clean that up to keep redshirt junior quarterback Sean Clifford safe this season. - Centre Times
