Warren Jackson's decision to forgo his final season of eligibility at Colorado State seemed to initiate a chain reaction amongst fellow Rams. Whether or not the events were indeed related, the timing of both Trey McBride and Manny Jones entering the NCAA's transfer portal certainly raised curiosity. Four days after Jackson's announcement, 247Sports.com reported McBride's intentions of departing CSU on Aug. 18 as Jones quickly followed on Aug. 20 – per a statement from NCAAF Nation's Twitter handle. It appeared the Rams would have to live without their top pass-catching tight end and most productive defensive lineman as transfers supposedly began to mount.

Hold that thought. McBride, a junior-to-be with two years of eligibility remaining, revealed via Twitter that he will stay in Fort Collins as the Mountain West Conference continues exploring the possibility of holding a 2020 spring football season. Subsequently, NCAAF Nation released a fresh report which entailed Jones' decision to wrap up his collegiate career at CSU. Jones, a Phill Steele preseason all-league first-team selection, dominated off the edge like never before in 2019 by leading the Rams in tackles for loss (eight) and finishing tied for second on the team in sacks (five). - Greeley Tribune

The Colorado State football team might be down yet another star player. Multiple reports say defensive end Manny Jones has entered the transfer portal, with 247Sports recruiting analyst Rusty Mansell confirming Jones intends to transfer. He's the third starter in a week to make a move toward leaving the Rams following the decision by the Mountain West to postpone the fall football season. Receiver Warren Jackson announced he'll skip his senior season to prepare for the 2021 NFL draft. Tight end Trey McBride has also entered the transfer portal. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Jones was honorable mention all-Mountain West in 2019 as a junior with 54 tackles, eight tackles for loss and five sacks. In three seasons at CSU he has 123 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks. - Fort Collins Coloradoan
