Former Auburn and West Virginia cornerback Dreshun Miller has enrolled an N.C. State. A spokesperson within the N.C. State athletics department confirmed Miller's enrollment to The News & Observer. Miller (6-2, 194) was an all-Big 12 honorable mention in 2020, when he started every game for West Virginia, breaking up nine passes to go along with 31 tackles. Last season, Miller appeared in just one game for Auburn.

Before enrolling at West Virginia, Miller played two seasons at Eastern Arizona College, where he led the Gila Monsters to the juco national championship game. The Atlanta, Georgia native has one season of eligibility remaining. The Wolfpack returns 10 starters on defense, including cornerbacks Shyheim Battle and Derrick Pitts. - Raleigh News Observer

Miller was a post-National Signing Day pickup for Auburn and stands as another new face in a remade Tigers secondary. Miller made the most of his one season as a Mountaineer by recording 31 tackles, eight pass break-ups and one interception. His role was a crucial one on a West Virginia pass defense that led the country by only allowing 159.6 passing yards per game. A Kennesaw, Georgia native, Miller steps in as another option at cornerback. He'll have to compete to earn playing time among the likes of Roger McCreary, Jaylin Simpson and Eric Reed Jr., but it's easy to see a path toward the junior seeing considerable snaps. - Opelika-Auburn News

The Auburn Tigers have added an experienced cornerback to their secondary for 2021. Former West Virginia cornerback Dreshun Miller announced his commitment to Auburn on Monday. The news comes after Miller completed his junior season with the Mountaineers and announced his departure from the team Feb. 11. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Miller played in nine games for West Virginia in 2020. The Kennesaw, Georgia native ended the season with 31 tackles, eight pass break-ups and one interception as part of a Mountaineers' pass defense that was the best in the country thanks to only allowing 159.6 passing yards per game. The 2020 season was Miller's first as a Mountaineer after starting his collegiate career at Eastern Arizona College. He led Eastern Arizona to the 2018 junior college national championship game and recorded 85 tackles, six tackles for loss and 12 pass break-ups in his two years with the team. - Opelika-Auburn News

In a surprise move, West Virginia starting cornerback Dreshun Miller announced that he is entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal on Thursday evening. It continues what has become a large exodus from the Mountaineer program in an era where this kind of thing is becoming more and more common, making planning as a coach a difficult matter. A junior college player who redshirted a year, started nine of last year's 10 games. He missed the bowl game due to health reasons. Playing the other corner from Nicktroy Fortune, Miller had 31 tackles, nine breakups and an interception. - Charleston Gazette-Mail

Dreshun Miller makes this list of West Virginia University's most important players without ever playing a snap as a Mountaineer. WVU coaches had plans on playing him plenty of snaps in 2019. The junior college cornerback arrived in Morgantown with a stout resume, but a preseason knee injury dashed those hopes before they even got a chance to form. Miller was lost for the 2019 campaign to rehab that knee. Now he's healthy and WVU coaches no longer have to keep those plans on hold. Miller will be expected to step into a significant role in the Mountaineers' secondary, replacing some very talented people.

Miller's value does not come solely from how good he could be, but also from who he's supplanting. Keith Washington and Hakeem Bailey were crucial to a good chunk of the success the Mountaineer secondary did see last season. Washington was an All-Big 12 second-teamer who ranked in the top 25 in the Football Bowl Subdivision for passes defended and was named to the East-West Shrine game. Bailey finished fourth on the team with 57 tackles and broke up nine passes over 12 games in 2019. Miller's past exploits make him a prime candidate to help in that cause. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound redshirt junior was a four-star prospect out of Sprayberry High School and had offers from LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Auburn, among others. - Charleston Gazette-Mail
