*Isaiah McDuffie, Boston College, Player News

Boston College linebacker Isaiah McDuffie will realign with an old practice field nemesis when he makes the jump to the NFL. The Green Bay Packers selected McDuffie with the 36th pick in the sixth round (220th overall) on Saturday afternoon. McDuffie is the 10th BC player drafted by the Packers since 1967 and joins running AJ Dillon, who was taken last year in the third round. "We are very excited for Isaiah as he was able to hear his name called by the Green Bay Packers in the draft," said BC head coach Jeff Hafley. "He was such a productive player in our defense and we look forward to watch him play on Sundays with the Packers." McDuffie led BC and was fifth in the nation in tackles with 107 and 30th with 9.7 tackles per game. - Boston Herald

Boston College redshirt junior linebacker Isaiah McDuffie, the team's leading tackler this season, has decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2021 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1-inch, 224-pounder finished a 6-5 campaign with a career-high 107 total tackles, ranking fourth nationally and second in the ACC behind NC State's Payton Wilson. McDuffie also chipped in three sacks and 6 1/2 tackles for loss. He announced the decision Friday, a day after tight end Hunter Long opted for the NFL. "We are excited for Isaiah as he begins the next chapter of his football career and we wish him well," said BC coach Jeff Hafley. "We look forward to watching Isaiah play on Sundays." - Boston Globe

For McDuffie, who only played four games during the 2019 season after sustaining an injury during spring training that year, 2020 was a bounceback year. After seeing the field sparingly as a freshman, McDuffie broke out as a sophomore, notching 85 tackles-5.5 for loss-and 3.5 sacks. His injury sidelined him for most of the next season, but in the last four games of the year he recorded 30 total tackles. A three-star recruit out of Bennett High School in Buffalo, N.Y., McDuffie initially committed to Syracuse in 2015 before flipping his decision to BC in the spring of 2016. In the release, McDuffie said that attending BC was the best decision he ever made. "I fell in love with the game of football from an early age," McDuffie said. "Growing up playing in the streets with my friends or organized, I always had a football by my side." McDuffie finished out his career with 233 total tackles, nearly half of which came this year, 15.5 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. "I will forever be an Eagle," McDuffie said. "I'm excited for this journey and can't wait to see what life has in store." - The Heights

The tandem combined for 12 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss in last weekend's 48-27 victory over Georgia Tech. Richardson finished the 2019 season ranked nationally with 72 solo tackles and was named second team All-ACC. McDuffie spent most of last year recovering from lower body injury and played in the final four games. - Boston Globe
