  2020 NFL COMBINE INVITE: David Woodward, ILB, Utah State,...Woodward, a 6-2, 235-pound linebacker, also announced he would forgo his senior season and enter the 2020 NFL Draft. Woodward had a breakout season as a sophomore in 2018, as he started all 12 games he played in and finished the season with 134 tackles (52-solo, 82-assist), which included 5.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss, to go along with two forced fumbles, two interceptions, three pass breakups and four quarterback hurries. Woodward finished the 2018 season ranking first in the MW and 11th in the nation with 134 tackles (11.2 pg).   Utah State junior linebacker David Woodward announced Monday that he will forgo his final season of eligibility and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft. "I want to thank my family, teammates, coaches and friends who have helped me during my football career," said Woodward. "After spending four great years at Utah State University it is time for me to move on and chase my dream of playing professional football. Therefore, I will forgo my senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft."

Woodward, a top NFL prospect, had a breakout season as a sophomore in 2018, as he started all 12 games he played in and finished the season with 134 tackles (52-solo, 82-assist), which included 5.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss, to go along with two forced fumbles, two interceptions, three pass breakups and four quarterback hurries.   2019 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST FIRST TEAM (COACHES): LB - David Woodward, Jr., Utah State,...Despite missing the last five games of the season due to injury, Woodward, a 6-2, 235-pound junior linebacker from Olympia, Wash. (Olympia HS), leads the Aggies with 93 tackles, including 5.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks, to go along with a team-best four forced fumbles, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery he returned eight yards for a touchdown. Woodward was named the Chuck Bednarik National Player of the Week after he recorded a career-high 24 tackles and a career-high two forced fumbles, while tying his career high with 3.5 tackles for loss, to go along with 1.0 sacks, in the season opener at Wake Forest. Those 24 stops against the Demon Deacons are the most in the nation this year. He was also named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after recording 14 tackles, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and defensive touchdown in a 34-23 win against Colorado State.   Utah State linebacker David Woodward is out for the rest of the Aggies' 2019 schedule due to an unspecified injury. USU head coach Gary Andersen confirmed Woodward's season-ending injury during his postgame remarks following a 42-14 loss to BYU on November 2. Woodward did not play against the Cougars. The junior linebacker appeared in seven games for the Aggies in 2019. He recorded 93 total tackles including 53 solo tackles. He added 2 sacks and 5.0 tackles for loss.
