  05/05/22 - C Airon ServaisrSr/2022, Syracuse, 6-6, 307 (DS#23 C) + More +

Former Syracuse offensive lineman Airon Servais has been invited to the New York Jets rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Servais was the most durable player in college football, ending his career with an FBS-record 60-straight starts over five seasons. He played both tackle positions and has spent time at center, the position he anchored in 2018 when he earned first-team All-ECAC honors after SU's 10-3 season. - The Post-Standard

2021 ALL-ACC FOOTBALL HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES/MEDIA): C - Airon Servais, Syracuse, 20 votes,...Servais is the FBS' most-consistent starter, concluding his collegiate career with 60-straight starts. He played both tackle spots and center in his career, and played the last-10 games of 2021 at center. He was the other lineman to start every game along with Bergeron. Despite a rotating cast of seven different starting offensive line combinations around him, he and the line managed to pave the way for a historic rushing attack that saw Sean Tucker break the program record for rushing yards in a single season, and Garrett Shrader post the second-most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single season. Both of which were the most at their respective position by an SU player in 42 years. - Syracuse Football

  12/11/20 - C Airon ServaisrSr/2022, Syracuse, 6-6, 307 (DS#23 C) + More +

The decisions made by the linemen should be helpful for a Syracuse program that finished 1-10 this year, enduring one of the worst seasons in program history. The defensive line was full of veterans this year and faces a significant reload if some of the seniors don't return, while the offensive line was the team's weakest link for the second consecutive season, contributing to Syracuse owning one of the worst offenses in the country. Servais referenced the difficulties of the season in his announcement. "After many discussions with family, friends and coaches, I have decided to use the extra year of eligibility and return to Syracuse to finish my college career" Servais wrote. "This season left much to be desired and I'm more motivated than ever to push myself and my teammates to be better."

Servais entered the season as one of SU's more established names, with 37 consecutive starts and some preseason All-ACC mentions, but he never looked as comfortable as previous seasons, shifting from left tackle to right tackle during the year. Servais' return was considered especially questionable because he had spent five years in college already and was one of five seniors who took a lap around the Carrier Dome on the team's Senior Day. - The Post-Standard

  12/10/20 - C Airon ServaisrSr/2022, Syracuse, 6-6, 307 (DS#23 C) + More +

Syracuse offensive tackle Airon Servais said he intends to play football for the Orange next year, potentially allowing the team to bring back its entire offensive line. The NCAA allowed players who competed this year an extra year of eligibility because of the difficulties playing through the coronavirus pandemic. Seniors will not count against the scholarship limit for schools next year. Servais announced on Twitter that he would take advantage of the opportunity to return for an extra season. He became the second important player on Syracuse to make that choice in recent days. Defensive end Josh Black announced he'd do the same thing on Tuesday, while tight end Aaron Hackett has chosen not to return. Syracuse has eight other seniors who must make similar decisions. - Syracuse Football

  07/20/19 - C Airon ServaisrSr/2022, Syracuse, 6-6, 307 (DS#23 C) + More +

2019 PRESEASON RIMINGTON TROPHY CANDIDATE: Airon Servais, Syracuse,...Servais has started all 25 games at center for the Orange the past two years, amassing 72.5 knockdown blocks over 2,139 snaps, including a team-best 36.5 last season. A 2018 All-ECAC First Team selection, Servais averaged 5.25 knockdowns per game during the final four contests. His efforts helped pave the way for an Orange offense that ranked 11th nationally in scoring (40.2 ppg) a year ago and set program records for points (523) and rushing touchdowns (38).

Off the field, Servais is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, a five-time SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll selection, and the current director of public relations for the Syracuse chapter of Uplifting Athletes. In his role with UA, Servais helped organize the 2019 "Lift for Life," which was held last night and raised more than $7,000 to benefit those affected by rare diseases. - Syracuse Football
