In 2017 as a freshman, Albert Okwuegbunam caught 11 touchdown passes from former Missouri quarterback Drew Lock. Now, the former Missouri tight end will reunite with Lock in Denver as the Broncos drafted Okwuegbunam in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday. Lock was chosen in the second round of last year's draft by John Elway and Co. "I can't wait to get up there," Okwuegbunam said during a phone call with Elway on Saturday, which the Broncos recorded and posted to their social media accounts. "Man, this is amazing. I can't wait to get back with Drew. It's gonna be great." "We're really excited about you," Elway replied. "You're going to be a great fit for us. We talked to Drew this morning and he loves you to death, so we're thrilled that you're there." Okwuegbunam proved himself to be among the elite tight ends in this draft class when it came to receiving and running. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash time of any tight end at the NFL Combine in 4.49 seconds. - Columbia Daily Tribune

Missouri Tigers tight end Albert Okwuegbunam is headed to the NFL, forgoing his final year of eligibility, he announced on Twitter on Monday. He joins defensive tackle Jordan Elliott as the second Mizzou player who plans to declare early for the NFL Draft. Okwuegbunam, a preseason All-American, broke out during the 2017 season when he caught 11 touchdown passes. A shoulder injury against Florida last season knocked him out for the year, potentially keeping him from leaving for the draft earlier. The 6-foot-5 tight end finished with 26 catches for 306 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. He had a strong start to the season, but struggled down the stretch, much like the Mizzou offense. He also dealt with a shoulder injury that kept him out of the Tennessee game. - The Kansas City Star

Kelly Bryant threw three touchdown passes, Missouri held rebuilding West Virginia to 171 yards of total offense, and the Tigers rolled to a 38-7 victory in their home opener on Saturday. More importantly, they bounced back from last week's stunning loss at Wyoming. Bryant finished with 150 yards passing but played less than three quarters, heading to the locker room after becoming overheated. But with the game out of reach, it didn't really matter.

Albert Okwuegbunam had two touchdown grabs. Larry Rountree added 99 yards and a score on the ground. Nick Bolton had a pair of interceptions and returned the second for a fourth-quarter touchdown that only emphasized a dominant performance on the defensive side of the ball. After allowing the Cowboys to run for 297 yards in a 37-31 loss, the Tigers (1-1) limited the Mountaineers (1-1) to 30 yards rushing. Transfer quarterback Austin Kendall was just 15 of 25 for 137 yards, most of that coming on a late touchdown throw, and also had a pair of interceptions. Okwuegbunam capped a 72-yard drive with his first touchdown reception to make it 10-0 late in the first quarter. Rountree scored from 10 yards out after a 59-yard march early in the second, then Okwuegbunam grabbed his second TD catch later in the quarter. And when Bryant found Barrett Banister in the final seconds of the first half, the Tigers had a 31-0 lead at the break. - AP College Football
