  2019 ALL-MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE THIRD TEAM (COACHES): Defensive Back - Alvin Davis, Akron,...A first-team All-MAC selection in 2018 and second-team pick in 2017, Davis was the top defensive back (and third overall) with 79 tackles, 5.0 TFL, two break-ups, and a hurry. Playing at both safety and cornerback, he led the defense against Troy with a career-high 17 tackles, including a career-high 12 solos stops and a career-high three tackles for a loss of four yards.

Davis completed his collegiate career with appearances in 48 games, which ranks fourth on Akron's all-time list. Named the team's 2018 Defensive MVP, Davis was a preseason first-team All-MAC selection by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports. He was also named to the 2019 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Watch List and the College Football America Yearbook's Starting Line-up. Davis is studying marketing management at Akron. - Akron Football

  2019 PRESEASON PAYCOM JIM THORPE AWARD WATCH LIST: Alvin Davis Jr., Akron, Sr.,...Last fall, Davis started 11 games at safety. The top defensive back (and fourth overall) with 77 tackles, he had a national-best/team-best four interceptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns, three break-ups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. In the stunning win at Northwestern, Davis returned two interceptions for touchdowns (97 yards and 50 yards), propelling UA to the come-from-behind road victory.

Davis' 97-yard interception tied for second-best in program history. He finished the game with 10 tackles, two interceptions for 147 return yards, and two touchdowns en route to Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, Chuck Bednarik National Defensive Player of the Week, MAC Defensive Player of the Week, and Summa Health Student-Athlete of the Week honors. Following the season, Davis was named the team's Defensive Most Valuable Player. - Akron Football
