  04/25/20 - OG Logan StenbergrSr/2020, Kentucky, 6-6, 317 (DS#8 OG) + More +

Kentucky football offensive guard Logan Stenberg had to wait until day three to hear his name called in the NFL draft. He did not have to wait long once the fourth round of the draft started Saturday afternoon though. The Detroit Lions selected Stenberg midway through the fourth round at No. 15 overall. Stenberg is the second UK player drafted, joining Lynn Bowden who was picked by the Las Vegas Raiders in the third round Friday night. He was the sixth offensive guard taken in the draft. Stenberg started the final 39 games of his UK career at left guard and was frequently pointed to as a source of energy on the offensive line that paved the way for Kentucky's vaunted rushing attack the last three years.

As a senior, Stenberg helped pave the way for a school-record 3,859 yards. "I think Logan is a guy that's going to play a long time," UK coach Mark Stoops said earlier this week on the "Behind Kentucky Football" podcast. "They know exactly what they're going to get with Logan. He is one heck of a football player. He's big, he's strong, he's physical, he plays extremely nasty. There are going to be a lot of teams that want him in their program. … He's going to play a long time." - Courier Journal

2020 NFL COMBINE INVITE: Logan Stenberg, OG, Kentucky,...Stenberg, of Madison, Alabama, was the most experienced member of an offensive line with 39 consecutive starts. The 6-foot-6, 327-pounder was a road grader for the Cats, as UK set the school record in 2019 for total rushing yards (3,624), yards per rush (6.32) and rushing touchdowns (36). He helped quarterback Bowden lead the league in rushing yardage and lead the country in yards per carry (7.94). Stenberg was named a second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC choice for his efforts. Stenberg was part of a senior class who won 32 games over the last four seasons, the most wins for UK in a four-year span since 1949-52, when Paul "Bear" Bryant coached the Cats. He also helped UK advance to four consecutive bowl appearances and back-to-back bowl wins for the first time since the 2007 Music City Bowl and 2009 Liberty Bowl. - Kentucky Football

2019 PRESEASON COACHES ALL-SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: OL Logan Stenberg, Kentucky,...Stenberg, who hails from Madison, Alabama, has played in 38 career games, starting the last 26 for the Wildcats. The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder has been an indispensable cog in the unit that helped pave the way for the punishing ground attack UK has unleashed the past few seasons, led by Benny Snell Jr.'s record-breaking career.

In 2018, Stenberg started all 13 games as Snell became the first player in program history to record three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons. In the Cats' 27-24 victory over Penn State in the VRBO Citrus Bowl that capped the best season in 41 years, Snell broke the school's career rushing record and scored his 47th and 48th career rushing touchdowns. - Kentucky Football
