2012 NFL Draft #8: Miami Dolphins Select Ryan Tannehill
6’4″, 221, July 27th, 1988, Big Spring Texas
College Career: 5450 Yards, 42 TD, 21 INT
One of the most intriguing players in the 2012 NFL Draft is QB, Ryan Tannehill, of Texas A&M.
Tannehill was a Wide Receiver at Texas A&M for most of his career and he set a Freshman receiving record with 210 yards receiving on 12 catches. He was never happy with being a wide receiver as he tried every year to win the starting QB job.
Finally in 2010, he got his chance and he went out and beat Texas Tech and then number 11 Oklahoma.
It is hard to believe that this kind of talent would be hidden for so long, but, perhaps the Texas A&M mistake will be Miami’s gain as Miami has not had a solid starting quarterback since Dan Marino retired.
(Interesting note, in college, Ryan Tannehill even had a pooch punt)
